CLEVELAND – A Helen woman has been charged with failure to yield right of way and second-degree vehicular homicide for the wreck that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist south of Cleveland last month.
Nancy Ann Tafel, 64, of Helen was driving a 2009 Toyota Prius south on U.S. 129 on Aug. 6 when she stopped to make a left turn, failed to yield and turned into the path of a motorcycle operated by Min Kim, 71, of Lawrenceville, according to the White County Sheriff’s Office.
Kim, Taffel and her passenger were transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Kim, the motorcyclist, died of the injuries on Aug. 27, said Sheriff’s Capt. Rick Kelley.
