The suspect in an August burglary at a Buford tackle shop and convenience store was arrested Tuesday in a cemetery, according to the Gwinnett County Police Department.

Officers assigned to the North Precinct said they saw Douglas Wayne McDaniel, 50, at the cemetery on North Church Street in Buford and arrested him without incident. He remained in the Gwinnett County Jail at last report.

McDaniel is suspected in a burglary on Aug. 18 at Nalley's II on Shadburn Ferry Road in Buford. Surveillance footage showed the suspect, believed to be McDaniel, break a glass door in order to gain entry to the store. Cash and cigarettes were stolen from the business, according to detectives. The suspect made his getaway in a Ford Ranger; the driver of the vehicle has not yet been identified.

When police released surveillance photos of the crime on Aug. 29, several people were able to identify McDaniel as the suspect. An arrest warrant for burglary was issued on Aug. 30 and police had been looking for McDaniel since that time.
