BUFORD — The Wolves rally fell short as Marist scored the go-ahead and winning run in the top of the eighth innings to beat Buford 7-6 Tuesday afternoon at the Buford Softball Complex.
Buford battled back to tie the game in the fifth inning, 5-5, and take the lead in the sixth 6-5, but a run in the seventh by the Eagles sent the game into extra innings
Senior Anabel Adams led the Wolves at the plate with a 3-for-4, 3 RBI performance. Junior Abbi Perkins was 2-for-2 with one RBI and a stolen base. Freshman Emma Castorri finished with one RBI.
Buford (9-5) will play Wesleyan on Wednesday at home. Game time is set for 5 p.m. Overall record for Buford stands at (9-5).
