CLARKESVILLE – Ray Holcomb has withdrawn his name from the Nov. 5 General Election ballot for the City of Baldwin.

Habersham County Elections Superintendent Laurel Ellison said Holcomb, who formerly served on the city council, came into the elections office to express his desire to withdraw.

Now that Holcomb is not seeking the Post 3 seat, qualifier Stephanie Almagno faces no opposition.

Post 1 Councilman Larry Lewallen and Post 2 Councilman Theron Ayers qualified with no opposition.

“Due to this withdrawal, the City of Baldwin will not have to hold an election,” Ellison said Tuesday.
