Gainesville Police Department investigators have dropped charges against an Alto woman in connection with the overdose death of a Flowery Branch man earlier this year.

Sgt. Kevin Holbrook confirmed Saturday that charges of concealing a death and tampering with evidence had been dropped against Jessica Lynn Jarrard, 30.

"It was an active investigation and further discovery of facts led to the dismissal of her involvement with the incident in Hall County," Holbrook said in an email statement.

Jarrard and another suspect, Cameron Eugene Sherman, 31, of Gainesville, were charged earlier in August as police investigated the death of Christopher Michael Wethington, 28. Wethington's body was found in his pick-up truck in the parking lot of Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Investigators believe Wethington died at another location and believe someone transported his body to the hospital from the site of his death.

At last report, the charges against Sherman remain in place.
