A 31-year-old Doraville man has been identified as the person killed in a shooting at a Duluth motel Thursday night.

Gwinnett County police found Ivan Pastor-Vital shot to death in a third-floor room of the InTown Suites on Steve Reynolds Boulevard.

Cpl. Michele Pihera of the Gwinnett County Police Department said witnesses heard the gunshots and began to render aid to the victim following the shooting.

"Prior to police arrival, four individuals were seen running out of the building.  A Hispanic man and woman were seen carrying armfuls of personal belongings accompanied by two young children," Pihera said. "In the surveillance video, at least one child appeared to be nude. The suspects were last seen walking down Club Drive towards Pleasant Hill Road."

The GCPD K9 Unit responded to the scene and searched the surrounding area for the suspects or evidence. However, as of 1 a.m. Friday, no suspects have been taken into custody.

The identities of the man and woman have been obtained by the lead detective. Their level of involvement in the shooting is still undetermined. No warrants have been issued for the homicide. We urge the man and woman to come forward and offer any details about the crime.

Police still need help locating any additional witnesses to this event who have not yet come forward. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477.
