An 18-year-old Carnesville woman died and two others were seriously injured in a Stephens County wreck Friday morning.
The wreck, reported about 9 a.m. on Ga. 106 just west of Ga. 320 near the Stephens/Franklin County line, claimed the life of Anna Whitlock, 18, of Carnesville, according to Georgia State Patrol Post 7 in Toccoa.
A Chevrolet Silverado driven by Amanda Phillips, 40, crossed the centerline of Ga. 106, striking Whitlock’s Ford Fiesta almost head-on, according to Post 7.
Whitlock died at the scene from injuries suffered in the collision.
Phillips was transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital in South Carolina.
Phillips’ 2-month-old passenger, Harley Watson, was airlifted to Children’s Heathcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite, according to Post 7.
Updates on the conditions of Phillips and Watson were not available late Friday afternoon.
The investigation is continuing, and charges are pending, according to GSP.
Emergency personnel from Stephens County and Franklin County responded.
