BUFORD — Buford snapped an early two-game losing streak with a 15-0 rout of Apalachee Saturday in the Rumble at the Ridge tournament.

The game was called after three innings due to the mercy rule.

The Lady Wolves (2-2) exploded for 14 hits, including a 9-hit, 10-run first inning. Ansleigh Hollifield, Olivia Duncan, and Kara Taylor all homered in the big inning. For Duncan, it was her first varsity home run.

Holifield also belted a three-run home run in the third inning. In her first varsity at bat junior Emmaline Williams smacked two-run, pinch-hit home run in the bottom of the third inning to end the contest.

Senior Amelia Veal got the win in the circle allowing just one hit and one walk in three innings.

The Lady Wolves next will travel to Collins Hill on Tuesday in a non-region contest.
