A longtime fixture at Gainesville High School was recognized this week as the school's employees gathered for the annual Big Red Rally.

The event is a convocation/pep rally held just two days before the start of the new school year.

Ware is the school's drama teacher and is in her 58th year in education.  She began her teaching career at Albert G Parrish High School in Selma, Ala., in 1962.

The performing arts center at GHS is named for her.
