A Gainesville man was arrested around midnight on Friday after a domestic dispute ended with two gunshots fired at a vehicle with a 2-year-old passenger.

According to a press release from the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the home of Robert Scott Webber, 60, on Country Lane Thursday around 11 p.m.

Webber became aggressive toward a male and female victim who went to the residence to pick up a 2-year-old child. The child was being watched at Webber’s home by the female victim’s mother at the time of the incident.

Allegedly, Webber attempted to hit the female victim on two occasions. During the first altercation, the male victim and another man threw Webber to the ground. On the second instance, the male victim threw Webber to the ground as the victims attempted to get inside their vehicle with the child.

Webber fired two gunshots at the car as the man and woman left the home with the child. The vehicle was struck by one bullet, but no one was injured.

Webber was arrested without incident and remained in the Hall County jail without bond Friday afternoon. According to authorities, alcohol was a factor in Webber’s actions.

The case remains under investigation.
