Traffic stop leads to a chase and drugs in Oakwood

A man faces multiple charges after leading Oakwood police on a chase and throwing drugs out the window.

Sgt. Todd Templeton says it started when an officer tried to stop Tyler Tatum at Atlanta Highway and Mundy Mill Road.

Tatum refused to stop and officer say he threw bags containing about 36 grams of meth out of the window as he drove northbound on Thurmon Tanner Parkway.

He finally surrendered to officers near Frontage Road.

Officers charged him with operating an unregistered vehicle, removing or affixing a license plate to conceal the identity of a vehicle, no proof of insurance, no driver's license, feeling and attempting to elude law enforcement, obstruction of law enforcement, possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, trafficking methamphetamine, possession of drug related objects, and tampering with evidence.

He was booked into the Hall County Detention Center without bond.
