Registered sex offender charged in alleged inappropriate contact with minors in Pickens County

The Pickens County Sheriff's Office arrested a registered sex offender Monday after reports he had inappropriate contact with minors.
 
Jeremy Lee Remlinger, 37, of Jasper is charged with rape, statutory rape, child molestation, enticing a child for indecent purposes, sexual battery, solicitation of sodomy, false imprisonment, and computer or electronic pornography and child exploitation. A Facebook post from the sheriff's office said he was arrested at his business near the intersection of Georgia Highway 53 East and Camp Road.
 
The post said detectives are currently still investigating the reports.
 
Previously, Remlinger registered as a sex offender in Pickens County. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation Sex Offender Registry lists his offense as felony statutory rape.
 
Additional charges are expected, the post stated.
