No bond for Gillsville man charged with aggravated child molestation

A Gillsville man was arrested Monday charged with child molestation.

Michael Anthony Maxwell, 45, is accused of committing "immoral and indecent acts against" a 12-year-old male victim this past spring, according the a press release from the Hall County Sheriff's Office.

The release states the incidents occurred at Maxwell's home on Turning Leaf Drive between May 17 and May 18; Maxwell was acquainted with the victim.

The abuse was initially reported by a family member of the victim to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, however they turned it over to Hall County in late June when it was determined the crimes occurred there. 

Maxwell faces two counts of aggravated child molestation. As of Tuesday afternoon, he remained in the Hall County Jail without bond.

The case remains under investigation.
