Terry Gray races to USCS Helton Memorial win at Dixie

Terry Gray took the lead with six laps to go in Saturday night’s Randy Helton Memorial for the USCS Sprint Car Series, and went on to record the victory at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia.

It marks the 93rd career series win for the veteran driver from Bartlett, Tennessee, and his second straight series victory.

Johnny Bridges led the first 21 laps of the 27-lap feature at the historic 3/8-mile clay raceway, but came under fire from Gray on lap 22, surrendering the lead in the process.

From there, Gray went on to score the victory. Bridges followed in second, with Danny Oliver in third, Morgan Turpen in fourth and Kyle Amerson in fifth.

Mark Ruel, Jr., Gregg Jones, Jeff Willingham, Shelby Brown and Joe Larkin rounded out the top ten finishers.

Gray was also the winner in the Speed Dash, while Alex Lyles and Jones winning their heat races.

Local division winners on the night included Justin Shipley in Steelhead/525, Luther Jenkins in Crate Late Models, Chris Hough in 602 Sportsman, Daniel Meadows in the Economy Bomber Championship feature and Jason Young in Street Stingers.
