Golf: Gainesville girl wins PGA Drive, Putt, and Chip competition

MACON — Gainesville's Lydia Pils had a huge day on the links Tuesday.

Pils, 15, took first place in the  PGA Drive, Chip, and Putt local qualifier at Idle Hour Country Club in Macon. Pils won the Chipping, Putting, and the Overall competition for the girls 14-15 year old division.

Pils won the putting competition by sinking putts from 6-feet and 30-feet and finished with a score of 151.

Pils is part of the Lanier Christian Academy golf team and also competes in GSGA Junior golf tournaments.

Lanier Christian Academy golfer and Gainesville native Lydia Pils, 15, won the PGA Drive, Chip, & Putt qualifier at Idle Hour Country Club on Tuesday.
