An autopsy is pending on an Elbert County toddler found unresponsive late Tuesday night.
“The Elbert County Sheriff’s Office received a call at approximately 10:54 p.m about an unresponsive person at a residence on Montevideo Road,” said Sheriff Melvin Andrews. “Through this investigation it was determined that a 2-year-old was deceased. This case is being worked by the investigation unit with the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office, the Elbert County Coroner’s Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.”
Andrews said no further details regarding the case will be released until the autopsy is complete.
