Gwinnett County Police say the human remains found in a suitcase three years ago on the side of I-985 in Buford are those of a missing woman.

New technology allowed officials to test ink on the tag of the suitcase which led to the identification of Jessica Ashley Manchini who would have been 29-years-old when her bones were discovered.

Manchini's mother reported her missing in December of 2014. Police said she was originally from Pennsylvania but had lived in Gwinnett County the last few years of her life.

Dental and medical records confirmed the identity of the remains, but her cause of death remains under investigation.

Anyone with information in the case should contact Gwinnett County Police at 770-513-5300.
