Hall County Deputy Coroner Kevin Wetzel said Tuesday it was a man whose body was found in Gainesville last week.
The body was found in a wooded area of Lee Street Friday. Wetzel went on to say the man's body had been at the location for quite some time and was badly decomposed.
The body has been sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime lab in Decatur for autopsy and positive identification.
The Gainesville Police Department and G.B.I. are jointly investigating.
