Coffee shop on Gainesville Square to relocate, closes to public Friday

Posted 1:53PM on Tuesday 25th June 2019 ( 4 years ago )

A coffee shop on the Downtown Gainesville Square will close to the public on Friday.

Midland Station Coffee Company made the announcement in a social media post Monday, and officials with Lakewood Baptist Church, which runs the coffee and sandwich shop, confirmed Tuesday they plan to relocate the business.

"We have hopes for the future and are looking to possibly relocate. Please be patient with us as we work through this season of change," a portion of the post reads. It also thanked the community for their support.

"We are looking to relocate to reduce operating cost," Lakewood Senior Pastor Tom Smiley said in a statement Tuesday. "Midland will be able to fulfill private group reservations until the lease completes in September."

The coffee shop is located on the Green Street side of the Square, on the corner of Washington Street. It was formerly occupied by the Turnstile Deli.
