GREENSBORO — North Hall standout Mikayla Dubnik finished fifth Wednesday in the Georgia State Golf Association Girls Championship.
Dubnik fired a three-day total 220 (4-over par) at Harbor Club on Lake Oconee but finished 13 shots behind Troy University-signee Ainsley Cowart of Winston, who carded a three-day 9-under par (207) to win the event. Dubnik sat in third place at even par after the first two days but shot a 76 on the final round.
As a result of the top five finish, Dubnik is one of six golfers who will represent Georgia in the 2019 Georgia-South Carolina Girls’ Challenge Match. The Challenge will be held at the Palmetto Hall Plantation Club in Hilton Head Island, S.C. on the Cupp Course on August 3rd and 4th.
