The date for Georgia's 2020 presidential primary has been set for March 24, according to information released Wednesday morning by the Secretary of State's Office.
Brad Raffensperger made the announcement in an email.
Georgia's primary for the past two presidential elections was held on Super Tuesday, the day when the most states hold their presidential primaries. March 24 is three weeks after Super Tuesday. Delaying the Georgia primary should give the state time to install new voting machines that are in the process of being purchased now.
