Missing teens from Cornelia found safe

Authorities said late Monday night that two missing juveniles from Cornelia had been located and are safe.

They released no details on how or where the girls were found.

The Cornelia Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating missing teens who possibly are in the Gainesville area.

Sonia Felipe, 16, and Reyna Pedro, 14, were last seen in the area of Chambers Avenue in Cornelia at 7 p.m. Sunday. The sisters left the home in a red Ford Explorer Sport Trac with Georgia tag RJD 4458. The truck has a U.S. Army sticker on the back window.

Sonia Felipe is 5-foot-2, weighing 100 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Reyna Pedro is 5-foot-4, weighing 140 pounds with black hair and brown eyes, and wears glasses.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the teens is asked to call Cornelia Police Department at (706) 778-4314 or Habersham County E-9-1-1 at (706) 778-3911.

Cornelia police hope the public can help them locate Sonia Felipe, 16, and Reyna Pedro, 14, who were last seen at a residence in Cornelia about 7 p.m. Sunday.
