The organizers of the annual Rivers Alive cleanup in the Mulberry River watershed report this year's effort led to the removal of nearly two tons of trash and debris, including 48 car or truck tires.
“More than 75 volunteers turned out for this worthy cause,” says Braselton’s environmental specialist, Yvette Wise. “Our town relies on the cleanliness of the Mulberry River watershed, and our volunteers are champions yet again this year.”
Wise says credit not only goes to those volunteers but also to the sponsors and donors who supported the effort, including Clark Heating & Air, Olive Basket, Galloping Galette, Discount Optical, Wooten Financial, Braselton Brew Pub, Braselton Fine Bakery, Naked South Boutique, and Funari Reality. Also Countryside Antiques, Artistic Expressions, My Gift Store, Eclectic Design, Whole Foods, Chick-fil-A, Keep Jackson County Beautiful, Andy Strange Grading, Bill Lott at UGA Thompson Mill Forest, 9 Round Kickbox, Matt Treeter of Barrow County, Papa John’s Pizza and Braselton Town employees.
