BRASELTON — Rising Cherokee Bluff senior Palmer Weaver won the Hurricane Junior Golf Tournament at Chateau Elan on Sunday.
Weaver finished with a 2-over par 72 to capture the 16-18 year old division. Weaver outlasted 21 players in his age group representing both Georgia and also Tennessee.
The tournament was initially a two-day event but was shortened to one day due to weather.
Jack Stafford of Crandall, Ga., finished second after shooting a 74. Walter Smith of Buford finished at 7-over 78 in a tie for sixth and Mason Hill of Flowery Branch carded a 84 (13-over) to finish in 15th place.
Palmer finished 2nd in the Hall County Championships back in March.
