The City of Sugar Hill will be breaking ground on its Veterans Memorial Plaza at 9 a.m. Thursday to coincide with the 75th anniversary of D-Day.

The memorial is a $1.4-million undertaking and is designed to honor all veterans who paid the ultimate price in service to the country.

The memorial will include a hardscape plaza, water display, an eternal flame and monuments representing the six US military branches.

The plaza is located at the intersection of West Broad and Church Streets.
