Gwinnett County Police say two people were found dead Monday afternoon at an apartment in Buford.
Corporal Wilbert Rundles said police were performing a welfare check at Preston Hills Apartments when they found the bodies of a 39-year-old female and a 40-year-old male. The bodies were were found just after 3:00 p.m..
"The male appears to be deceased from an apparent gunshot wound," Rundles said.
Rundles added the cause of death for the female is not as apparent.
Both bodies have been turned over to the medical examiner's office.
Names have not been released pending notification of next of kin.
