BRAG makes a stop in Gainesville on the way to the coast

Bicycle Ride Across Georgia makes a week long journey traveling from North Georgia to the coast. Gainesville was one stop on the way where riders camped overnight at Lake Lanier Olympic Park. 

Riders made their way to Olympic Park in a three hour block starting at noon, where they were able to stop for showers, relaxation, food and entertainment. 

Cyclists from all walks of life, of all ages and from all over participated in the journey which began June 1.

On Sunday, the first trek of the ride started at Ellijay and ended in Gainesville at Lake Lanier Olympic Park on Clarkes Bridge Road.  

The first trip was roughly a 60 mile ride. On Monday, cyclist will travel another 60 miles as they make their way to Covington.

Mobile showers are on site at each stop for the riders.
Riders set up camp with lake views at the Olympic Park Venue.

While some riders pitched tents, others chose a more minimal stay in hammocks.
Of course we feature a pup, but the real focus is on the massages offered to riders making the week-long journey.

People enjoyed the lake views while listening to live music at Lake Lanier's Olympic Park.

The event's entertainment for the night included a performance by local band the Fabulous Cover Hogs.
This lovely duo relaxed lakeside to enjoy BRAG's entertainment for the evening.
The BRAG stop was a good time for people to mingle with one another.

Who can say no to the beautiful lake views?
The entertainment was from 6-8 pm.
Alongside the corn hole boards, folks could take a stab at horseshoes, too.

There was a variety of food at the BRAG stop.
People visited vendors for the evening during the 2-hour event.
Debating a massage, perhaps?
The ride included participants of all ages. This couple hooked their child along for the journey.
Riders were welcomed with the BRAG archway.
Cyclists parked their bikes and set up campsites for their overnight stop.
