From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, May 31, the Georgia Department of Transportation will implement a single lane closure on Cleveland Highway (SR 11/US 129) between Briarwood Drive and Thompson Mill Road.
The lane closure will allow construction crews to pour a concrete edge beam to support the new Longstreet Bridge.
This project, along with the Bells Mill Bridge located on State Route 11/US 129 was awarded to E.R. Snell in May 2017 for the construction contact amount of $33 million. Scheduled completion for this project is in September 2020.
