The Helen to Atlantic Balloon Race brings in people from around the globe to watch and participate in the annual ballooning event.
Racers took off Thursday morning around 6:30 am to head toward the coast, but even more ballooners stayed behind to leisurely float around the White County area.
The race and event will continue through the weekend. Ballooners take to the air twice a day, once in the early morning and again in the early evening.
WDUN's Joy Holmes rode passenger to the balloon craft flown by long-time airplane pilot, Jim Lynch. The video above is her documented day. A second part video will be featured Saturday but from the crew experience on the ground.
