Gainesville Police are investigating after a Flowery Branch man was found dead inside a vehicle at Northeast Georgia Medical Center - Gainesville Friday.
Police found hospital staff rendering aid to a man in the parking lot of the Spring Street hospital when they arrived on scene around 11:30 p.m., according to Cpl. Jessica Van.
"Once they were on scene, they witnessed hospital staff rendering aid to a male on the ground, next to a white pick-up truck," said Van.
Christopher Michael Wethington, 28, was taken into the hospital a short time later and was pronounced deceased.
While the initial call was for a possible overdose, Van said a lot of the details leading up to the death are still being uncovered. "Everything with the investigation is still active and ongoing at this time," she said. She added an autopsy was scheduled and they would release what they can when it becomes available.
