Police found a man who went missing after a car accident in Suwanee more than a week ago, but the search has had a tragic ending.

The Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office said in a social media post Alec Davis' parents reached out to the department to ask for help in the search for their son.

The 24-year-old had been missing since he was involved in a car accident on May 4. The Suwanee Police Department had been looking for Davis since the accident.

About two dozen staff members searched a wooded area in the Landover Crossing and Peachtree Industrial Boulevard area where Davis was last seen. Davis' body was found in a subdivision in the area about two hours after the search began Monday.

Authorities do not yet know the cause of death, but they say it does not appear foul play was involved.
