Rain – again – washes out racing at several area tracks

For the second time in as many weeks, Mother Nature rained on the parade of the racing plans for several area race tracks and touring series on Saturday.

Georgia’s Hartwell Speedway held out until late Saturday afternoon before a series of showers finally washed out the night’s racing card at the 3/8-mile clay track. Hartwell is slated to try again on Saturday, May 18. Visit Hartwell-Speedway.com for more information

Another late Saturday holdout was Georgia’s Winder-Barrow Speedway, but late in the day, a band of showers passed over the ¼-mile raceway, putting the kibosh on racing plans for the night. The raceway is next scheduled for Saturday, May 18. Check WinderBarrowSpeedway.net for updates.

Georgia’s historic Toccoa Raceway was scheduled to host the Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series on Saturday night, but the rainy forecast led series and track officials to postpone the event late last week. The Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series also saw their scheduled Friday night race at Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, North Carolina washed out. For schedule updates, visit SouthernNationalsSeries.com.

Georgia’s Senoia Raceway was slated to host a Mother’s Day Mayhem event on Saturday night, but late afternoon showers put that event on hold. Senoia will return to action, hosing the Southern All Stars Series on Saturday, May 18. Visit SenoiaRaceway.com for more information.

Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia also saw their plans for Saturday night racing washed out by forecasts for rain. Racing returns on Saturday, May 18. Check BoydsSpeedway.net for updates.
