A SWAT standoff ended peacefully Saturday several hours after it began at a house on Ash Circle, but the suspect in the case was still at large at last report.

Hall County Sheriff's Office spokesman Scott Ware says deputies responded to the location about 4:00 in response to a report of a domestic problem.

"According to the victim (a female), the suspect was inside the home with a firearm and an aggressive dog," Ware wrote in an email Saturday night. "Deputies and SWAT team members attempted to make contact with the suspect for several hours and were unsuccessful. They made entry into the residence and the suspect was not located. K-9 tracking dogs were also utilized to no avail."

By 10:00 Saturday night, sheriff's office personnel had left the scene, Ware said.

He added that warrants will be sought against the suspect, whose name had not been released as of late Saturday night.
