Police: Armed robbery Friday at Gainesville pie store

Gainesville Police report there was an armed robbery at the Southern Baked Pie Company Friday evening around 6:00 p.m.. 

Police Chief Jay Parrish said a black male with a knife entered the store located on Broad Street.  He said the man ordered a pie and then said he did not have enough money, then went outside and returned.  
Parrish said the man put a knife to the female employees side and said he would not hurt her, but wanted the cash. He said he got about $550 dollars from the register and fled the business. 

Parrish added they attempted to locate the suspect using K9, to no success. 

The suspect is described as being heavy set, 5'8"-5'9" tall, heavy set. 

The lookout remained active Friday night.
