A Gainesville man faces charges after threatening to kill an inmate on a work detail at a Hall County park.

Hall County Sheriff's Lt. Scott Ware says 38-year old Johnny Joe Reynolds pulled a knife on the inmate at Cool Springs Park Sunday while the group took a bathroom break.

"The conflict rapidly developed when they first met," Lt. Ware said. "I don't know if they had met prior or had any bad blood between them," he said.

The deputy supervising the work detail quickly arrested Reynolds and he now faces charges of aggravated assault and terroristic threats.

Bond has not yet been set and Reynolds remains in the Hall County jail.
