*The 6th Annual Dragon Boat Challenge will be held on Lake Lanier today at the rowing venue.

*EarthShare of Georgia has named Gainesville's Elachee Nature Science Center its 2019 "Outstanding Member Organization" in recognizing 40 years of promoting "environmental understanding" through education and conservation.

*Young Harris College will finish its 2018-2019 academic year with three events celebrating its graduating seniors: a picnic and Vespers Service at Brasstown Bald May 9, a Baccalaureate Service May 10, and a Commencement Ceremony May 11. 

*The Hall County Farmer's Market will open Tuesday.  It will be open each Tuesday afternoon (2:30-6:30) and Saturday mornings (8:00-12:00).  Sales are subject to ending earlier if there is a sellout.  

*Gwinnett County's recent Earth Day recycling event ended with the collection of more than 4,500 gallons of paint, six tons of tires, 20 tons of paper, and 14 tons of electronics.
