Another individual now faces charges in connection with the recent chop shop raid in Elbert County.

On Friday, 58-year-old Jerry Mitchell of Elbert County was arrested in Hart County and faces felony charges of owning, operating or conducting a chop shop, and theft by receiving stolen property, Elbert County Detention Center records show.

Officers arrested 38-year-old Craig Frank Adams of Athens for 19 counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, a felony probation warrant, felony charges of owning, operating or conducting a chop shop, and theft by receiving stolen property.

The alleged chop shop was located on 15 acres on Plantation Road, where Mitchell resides. Following the April 10 raid of that location, state officials announced that officers located hundreds of disassembled vehicles and thousands of diesel auto parts.
