Investigators with the Gainesville Police Department said the employees of a Dollar General Store refused to comply with the demands of a suspect who tried to rob them at knife-point over the weekend.

The attempted hold-up happened around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, April 27 at the store on Lenox Drive just off Athens Highway.

According to information released Monday, the suspect is a dark-skinned male, who was wearing a black mask, teal hoodie khaki pants and gray shoes with white soles. The suspect threatened employees with a large knife and demanded money, but the employees refused his demands and called 911.

The suspect left the scene on foot before officers arrived.

No one was injured in the incident.

Investigators released a surveillance photo of the suspect, and they are asking anyone with information to call the Gainesville Police Department at 770-534-5252.
