Two Hall County students are state winners in the 2019 Young Georgia Authors wiring competition.

North Hall Middle School 6th grader Athena Vachtsevanos is a 2019 Young Georgia Authors State-Level Winner for her story, “Hope.”   Cherokee Bluff Middle School 8th grader Kailyn Neal received an Honorable Mention for her story, “War of the Words.”

Out of the 13 grade-level contests, Hall County had two regional winners, each of whom has placed in state. Each of these students won the grade-level district competition and then competed with grade-level winners from the 15 school systems in the Pioneer RESA Region: Banks, Dawson, Fannin, Franklin, Gainesville City, Habersham, Hall, Hart, Lumpkin, Mountain Education Charter High School, Rabun, Stephens, Towns, Union, and White County. They then competed against every RESA in the state to be recognized for their creative writing.

Winning entries and honorable mention entries are available on the Young Georgia Authors website:  http://galangartssup.weebly.com/young-georgia-authors.
