Three women were arrested for prostitution and other charges Tuesday during an undercover operation between the Hall County Multi Agency Narcotics Squad and Oakwood Police.
Lt. Don Scalia with MANS said their department investigates complaints in specifics areas, but they also look for suspects on a random basis.
"They were not connected other than the fact the committed the same crimes, but other than that these were all separate cases, separate locations," Scalia said.
Arrested during the undercover operation were Ashley Nicole Hill, Kayla Christina Reed and Christine Leann Stevens.
Hill, 30, of Dawsonville, is charged with prostitution, keeping a place of prostitution, possession of methamphetamine and possession of synthetic marijuana. Scalia said Hill had a meth pipe and two small baggies of the synthetic marijuana when she was arrested at a motel on Thurmon Tanner Parkway. Reed, 34, of Gainesville is facing charges of prostitution, keeping a place of prostitution and possession of methamphetamine (less than one gram). Scalia said she was arrested at a residence in the 5000 block of Whitmire Drive. Stevens, 34, of Gainesville faces prostitution and keeping a place of prostitution charges. She was arrested at a residence in the 2000 block of Chicopee Street.
Scalia said in operations like this, agents gather evidence to make an arrest by posing as potential customers. "I can't give specifics like how we do that, but just like any other prostitution thing, even in the past, they've gotta have folks that are willing to pay for their services, and we just pose as those folks."
Scalia said they don't expect to make any further arrests in this investigation.
