DAWSONVILLE — The Dawson County boys track team's consistency won in the end.
The Tigers (166.2) outraced Greater Atlanta Christian (148.50) and North Hall (136.50) to capture the Region 7-3A championship Thursday at home.
Ethan Cameron (triple jump winner) and Cooper Freeman (400-meter dash and pole vault winner) along with the 4X400 relay team of Noah Brock, Cody Wood, Collin Kilgore and Freeman helped lead the Tigers to the title.
North Hall performed extremely well in the longer distance events, winning the 800, 1600 and 3200-meter races. Devin Crow took first place in the 800 and 1600, while Andrew Jones strolled to the 3200-meter win.
In the boys hurdle events, the Trojans swept those with Daniel Jackson (110-meter hurdles) and Chesley Kinney (300-meter hurdles) taking home the top spot in the two races.
On the girls' side, GAC (219) blew past Dawson (109) and Fannin County (74) to win the girls championship. North Hall finished fourth, just one point behind Fannin.
Dawson's Frankie Muldoon won the 1600 and 3200-meter races to keep GAC from sweeping the running event finals. East Hall's Avana Anderson won the long jump finals, North Hall's Gracie McBride jumped her way to the triple jump title and Dawson's Anna Lowe launched the shot put to a first place result.
GAC won the overall title, edging Dawson County 367.50 – 275. North Hall and Lumpkin County finished third and fourth.
