Just before midnight Monday, April 22, Rabun County firefighters were called to a house fire with entrapment on Thomas Street in Tiger.

Stations 12, 1 and 4 were dispatched to the home at 11:54 p.m.

While firefighters were responding, the occupant was able to escape the burning structure, according to Rabun County Assistant Fire Chief Justin Upchurch.

“The first units on scene encountered a three-story structure that was well involved on the second and third floors,” Upchurch said. “The occupant was assessed by EMS on scene.”

Units brought the fire under control, remaining on scene until 3 a.m.

The cause of the fire is undetermined and remains under investigation, according to Upchurch.

Flames consume a three-story house in Tiger overnight Monday.
