Hall County Commissioners unanimously approved a special business events license Tuesday for a motorcycle dealership near Buford.

Frazier's Cycle Sales, Inc. is asking to be able to host up to 12 outdoor events each year. The business is on Friendship Road just east of I-985.

Bill Frazier of Frazier's Cycle Sales spoke at Tuesday's commission meeting and he said that many of the businesses events would be to benefit charity.

"Just for example, a chili cook-off with a corn hole tournament that is going to benefit the Shriners, they're raffling off a motorcycle for the Shriners hospital," Frazier said.

He said the store is also planning a cruise-in car show and a customer appreciation day. Most events would draw less than 100 people to the location according to Frazier, while the customer appreciation day is expected to draw as many as 400.

Frazier said the business has plans for parking to accommodate those crowds. The license would allow the business to hold events during business hours, which are between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on weekdays, although Frazier added that the car show could last until 8:00 p.m.

No one spoke against the request at Tuesday's meeting. A second reading and public hearing will need to be held the approve the license.
