JEFFERSON — The Class 3A top-ranked Jefferson Dragons not only won the region but swept No. 2-ranked Morgan County to win the program's fifth title in seven years.
The Dragons (24-1, 17-1) entered Thursday needing to win one of the two games scheduled against the Bulldogs to win the region — they took both, 6-1 and 7-3.
The Dragons will face the No. 4 seed out of Region 5-3A next week in the first round of the Class 3A state playoffs.
