The condition of a man who was shot in Franklin County is not immediately known.
"We are on the scene where 9-1-1 requested for Franklin County deputies to respond to a residence on Poplar Springs in the Gumlog area," said Franklin County Sheriff Steve Thomas on Friday night. "EMS and deputies arrived and it appeared that a white male in his 50s had been shot."
That incident happened about 6:30 p.m. Friday.
Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents have joined deputies and investigators working the scene.
"The victim was flown to Greenville [Memorial] Hospital and has been in surgery," Thomas said. "His condition at this time is not known."
