DAHLONEGA — It was a golden pitching performance by Class A No. 6-ranked Lakeview Academy in a 9-1 win over Class 3A Lumpkin County Friday afternoon.
Holden Cooper and Skyler Thellman combined to no-hit the Indians and pick up their 16th win of the season.
In six innings of work, Cooper struck out four Indians to pick up the win. Thellman turned in a perfect pitching performance in the seventh inning to hold the no-hitter for Cooper.
Lakeview (16-4, 7-0) scored nine runs on nine hits.
Lumpkin County took the early lead in the first inning off when B Chastain scored off a squeeze bunt by L Choflet.
The Lions offense began to heat up in the third inning when S Stewart scored Andrew Estes off a sacrifice fly to right field.
Andrew Estes was 3-for-4 with an RBI single, triple, walk and 3 scored three runs. KJ Millwood 2-for-3 with an RBI walk and two runs scored and Cooper was 2-for-3 with a walk and 2 runs scored
The Lions will get back into Region 8-A play Tuesday when they host Towns County. Game time is 5:30 p.m.

The Spartans were in control until the fifth inning against Class 4A No. 2 Marist Friday night on the road.
The Eagles hammered out four runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 6-3 lead and held the Spartans scoreless the rest of the way to win the Region 7-4A battle.
Braden Simms accounted for all three runs – he drove in Clayton Jenkins and Canaan Koger on a two-out single in the first inning and later stole home to give the Spartans a 3-0 lead in the first inning.
The Eagles scored two runs in the fourth inning to make it a one-run game, 3-2.
Clayton Jenkins and Tyler Maynard were 2-for-3 at the player. Simms had two RBIs in the loss.
BLESSED TRINITY 4,
CHESTATEE 2
The War Eagles kept it close against the Class 4A top-ranked Titans at home Friday night.
Chestatee gave up four runs in the top of the fourth to fall to Blessed Trinity, 4-2.
Chestatee held the Titans scoreless for six innings and scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth to cut the lead in half, 4-2.
Phillip Lemay’s ground out scored Will Cantrell to get the War Eagles on the board. Benson Miller singled the next at-bat to right field. The hit scored Caleb Carter to close the gap.
Miller was 2-for-3 with one RBI to lead the War Eagles. Cantrell was 2-for-4.

RABUN COUNTY 1
Rabun’s offense only found the plate once in a loss to Monticello Friday on the road.
Monticello scored two runs in the bottom of the second to go up 2-0. The game stayed that way until Keaton Beavers’ line drive to centerfield scored Gunner Stockton.
Brody Jarrard, Beavers, Sean Thompson and Aaron Bryson ended the day with a hit for the Wildcats.
DENMARK 11,
WHITE COUNTY 1
Denmark scattered 11 runs over five innings to run-rule the Warriors Friday night at home.
White County’s lone run came in the third inning when Jake Johnson scored off a J Ben Haynes single to left field.
Denmark scored three in the first, five in the second and one run in the third, fourth and fifth innings.
WALNUT GROVE 15,

Walnut Grove scored 15 runs off six hits to blow past Johnson in the five-inning Region 8-5A game Friday night in Oakwood.
Johnson struggled all game trying to find a hit. The Knights finished with three hits. Tristen Nguyen, Zack Fine and Dante Root had a hit.
BUFORD 15,
CLARK CENTRAL 0
Buford had to problems scoring as they crossed the plate 15 times in a five-inning win over Region 8-5A foe Clark Central in Athens.
Buford opened the game with a nine-run top of the first inning. They scored one in the second and fourth and four in the fifth.
Sean Adams struck out 11 Gladiators and allowed only one hit in five innings of the work.
Evan Place drove in three runs, Greg Johnson had two RBIs and Eli Ledford, Brandon Joliff, Dylan Lesko and Austin Turner each had one RBI.
