RABBITTOWN — East Hall Athletic Director Adam Rich announced Friday that he has named Anuel Burce to be the new head girls softball coach.

Burce will take over for Josh Joiner, who led the Lady Vikings to an 18-11 record and a spot in the Class 3A state playoffs in 2018.

Burce graduated from East Hall High School and was a member of the baseball team. Shortly after graduation, he attended college where he majored in Paramedicine. He worked for 14 years as a firefighter/paramedic for Hall County Fire Services before becoming a Healthcare Science teacher at East Hall Middle School. Although he is a full-time teacher, he also continues to work part-time as a firefighter/paramedic.

Burce has been an assistant on the Lady Vikings softball team for the past nine seasons. He also has been the head coach for East Hall Middle School for one year.

Along with these experiences, he also was an assistant coach for East Hall baseball team for 21 years.

This will be Burce's first year as head coach at his alma mater.
