Georgia Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner Jim Beck is hoping the public can help state investigators find the person(s) who set fire to a mobile home in the Sandy Cross community of Franklin County early Wednesday.
“The doublewide mobile home was located at 4294 Sandy Cross Road in Royston,” Beck said. “The 20-year-old, 1,700-square-foot structure was completely destroyed by the blaze. The fire remains under investigation.”
A state fire investigator determined the fire, which occurred around 2 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, was intentionally set.
Beck asks anyone with knowledge of the fire to call the Arson Hotline at (800) 282-5804. Rewards of up to $10,000 are offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the arsonist{s). Calls are taken 24 hours a day, and callers may choose to remain anonymous.
Sandy Cross Volunteer Fire Department is assisting with the investigation.
