Donation helps Good News Clinics improve patient care

A $100,000 donation helped the Good News Clinics implement a new electronic health records system.

The clinic serves uninsured patients in Hall County and provides medical and dental care.

Officials with Northeast Georgia Health Systems said the upgrade to Epic, in October 2017, replaces the need to fax physician orders and medical histories and allow for faster electronic referrals between community partners.

"NGHS has celebrated impressive improvements in patient care delivery and coordination since transitioning to Epic," said Chris Bray, President and Chief Operating Officer for TMCF. "We look forward to experiencing the ways this software will enhance patient care at GNC and help them fulfill the vital role they play in our community. We are excited about the R. Howard Dobbs, Jr. Foundation gift and the growing family of donors who help make projects like Epic at GNC come to life."

The R. Howard Dobbs, Jr. Foundation donated the funds for the software upgrade through The Medical Center Foundation.
