Lane closures are planned for the next seven days starting Friday at the Longstreet Bridge construction site on Cleveland Highway north of Gainesville.

State Department of Transportation officials say that's when crews are scheduled to begin setting the 115-foot-long beams for the new bridge over the Chattahoochee River.

Lane closures will occur between Briarwood Drive and Thompson Mill Road, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.to 3 p.m. through March 29.

It is one of several simultaneous Chattahoochee River/Lake Lanier bridge replacement projects in the Gainesville area.  AccessWDUN'S Caleb Hutchins, Joy Holmes and Marc Eggers recently got an update on the projects and an up-close look at three of them.
